Franklin Peer Support for Women

Well Women Franklin is a registered charity. We support women and their families in Franklin and Papakura who are experiencing antenatal or postnatal distress and anxiety. We focus on wellness and resilience, using a holistic approach.

We also offer help to women who experience post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health disorders bought about by pregnancy or motherhood.

Our peer support groups meet weekly in Pukekohe and Papakura. Trained facilitators with lived experience lead the groups. There is no obligation to join in with the conversation or attend every week. The group offers a safe environment and often being with others who are experiencing similar feelings is a huge relief to women who may not have been able to discuss their feelings with anybody else.

Childcare is also provided during the day time groups, this is held in a separate room to the peer support group. Our experienced childcarers offer the children a safe and enjoyable space to play with other children all the while knowing that Mum is not far away.

Women do not need a referral from their doctor or health professional to attend Well Women. We do, however, encourage women to visit their GP or health provider for a medical check up.

Women can reach out to Well Women Franklin via phone, email, website or facebook and our facilitators will contact them to talk more about the services we offer and how we can be of help.

All our services are free of charge.
